HAPPY PRIDE!
June is Pride Month, and CBE is celebrating and taking action!

Pride Shabbat - Friday, June 20 at 6:30PM

Please join us for Joyfully Jewish celebration and support of the LGBTQ+ community at our annual Pride Shabbat.  Special guest, Eli Lurie Sobel, Keshet's Greater Boston Education & Training Manager, will speak to us about “What Your LGBTQ+ Community Members Need From You Right Now.” Musical guest Vivian Montgomery will join Rabbi David and Cantor Sarra for this festive Shabbat service for all ages. Dessert oneg to follow.

Eli Lurie Sobel (they/them/theirs and he/him/his) is Keshet's Greater Boston Education & Training Manager, where their mission is for LGBTQ+ equality in Jewish life. Eli works with Jewish organizations and individuals in the Boston and New England area to provide the tools needed to ensure inclusivity and belonging of LGBTQ+ people in Jewish spaces. Eli has worked and taught at numerous local institutions, including Tufts University and Brandeis University, and they currently teach a monthly "Queer Torah" series at Lehrhaus in Somerville.

Acton-Westford Pride Festival - Saturday, June 21 12:00 - 3:00 PM @ NARA Park

CBE is hosting a table at the Acton-Westford Pride Festival at NARA Park - please come say hi and make a craft!  This is a wonderful event for all ages. Fill out postcards to be delivered to state legislators (see below).  If you are interested in volunteering at our table, please contact Jess Rosenblatt at ritual@bethelohim.org.

Shivyon: Keshet’s Equality Project - Join the CBE team!

CBE is participating in Shivyon: Keshet’s Equality Project this year to help our community develop long-term and sustainable LGBTQ+ equality and belonging.  If you are interested in helping with this effort, even if you’re not sure how much time you can commit, please contact Cindy Kalish at cindyk@bethelohim.org.

Take Action with Na'aseh!

Take action by filling out postcards that we'll deliver to your state legislators in support of the Location Shield Act. H.86/S.197, legislation to protect reproductive health access, LGBTQ lives, religious liberty, and freedom of movement by banning the sale of cell phone location information. We'll have postcards at the Acton-Westford Pride Festival or drop in CBE Sunday morning the 22nd, 11-12 to fill out a postcard with Na'aseh.
