Volunteering at Congregation Beth Elohim
Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you are a part of. – Author Unknown

WHY VOLUNTEER
Congregation Beth Elohim is blessed with a wonderful professional staff and many fine teachers in the Religious School and the Early Learning Center. But that is not enough to make our community a truly great place. Our congregation relies heavily on volunteer power from congregants like you. Strong volunteer engagement enriches all our programming (e.g. 50th Celebration, Brotherhood and Sisterhood events and so much more) and is also very necessary to keep us running (e.g. the Board, financial staff, committees including Operations. Adult Ed, Programming). There is a very great variety of volunteer opportunities, as well as skill levels and talents needed. On a personal level, volunteering is also a superb way to meet more of your fellow congregants, take ownership, and help set directions for CBE.
The Volunteer Engagement Committee
This committee was created to help in recruiting volunteers and “to instill in all members a desire to contribute to our future”. We do this by promoting volunteer opportunities and ensuring volunteers are thanked and their good work recognized. Current members are Danya Bloomstone, Bob Ferrara, Barbara Frank Michaelsen, Laura Kelmar, and Matt Liebman. You can reach us by writing volunteer@bethelohim.org.
