Please join Rabbi David for this timely exploration of Jewish identity and Israel!
What does it mean to identify as an American Jew today? Is being Jewish just something we are born into, or does it involve a shared set of beliefs and values? What role does a sense of peoplehood play in how we feel about being Jewish?
Our class will also focus on these questions, plus the central role the modern state of Israel plays in American Jewish Identity today. We will use parts of the Shalom Hartman Institute ‘Foundations for a Thoughtful Judaism' Curriculum.
This class will be held in the CBE Library and available via Zoom also. Sign up below to let us know you are joining us and to get the Zoom link.
