7:00 PM - 8:30 PMvia CBE ZoomThis class is offered by Aurora Curruthers-Grey.
Do you feel guilty about not being able to fast on Yom Kippur because of an eating disorder, pregnancy, status as a nursing mother, or other medical concern? Are you looking for spiritual alternatives, or guidance on how to fast safely?
Aurora Carruthers-Grey is a Certified Peer Specialist in the state of Massachusetts, which means she will use her lived experience as someone in eating disorder recovery to help aid others in their recovery.
If fasting isn’t an option for you, or if you haven’t fasted recently and are looking for healthful ways to dip your toes back into the spiritual waters, then this course will offer insight into methods to help you feel fulfilled and repentant this Yom Kippur. The class will cover the halacha behind fasting, what is considered an illness that prevents fasting (hint: an eating disorder is one of them), fasting alternatives, and how to fast safely if you have a medical concern. Come join us to learn more about fasting safely and spiritual alternatives!
