“Connecting the Pieces of Jewish History in Our Classrooms”
with Dr. Daniel Osborn, Project Mosaics
How is Jewish history, culture, and identity represented in public schools? Whose voices and stories can offer a more diverse, vibrant, and complex portrait of Jewish peoplehood for students? Join Dr. Daniel Osborn to learn about the Project Mosaics and its approach to centering and elevating Jewish experiences in humanities classrooms.
Dr. Osborn is the founder of Project Mosaics, an education nonprofit focused on the diversity and global nature of Jewish identity and culture; the author of Levantine Vignettes: An Educator's Account of Border Crossing in the Middle East and Dismantling Orientalist Representations in US Education: Schooling and Otherness in the Social Studies Classroom and the host of "Joy and Conversation," a podcast about Jewish history and culture. He currently teaches at Boston University and Lasell University.
Breakfast will start at 9:00 AM and the speaker will begin about 9:30 AM. There is no charge for Brotherhood members. Non-Brotherhood members pay $10. You are a member of Brotherhood if you have paid your annual dues for the 2024-2025 year. You can pay online HERE or you can pay at the event.
