Sunday, April 7, 2024 28 Adar II 5784

9:00 AM - 11:00 AMSocial hall, kitchen

Please join the Congregation Beth Elohim community and our featured speakers as we celebrate the Department of Energy Sunny Award for Equitable Solar and learn more about how community solar helps us meet the state’s ambitious climate goals.  Sign up below.

We will hold an additional press event with Rep. Lori Trahan on May 5.  More details to come.

Enjoy breakfast provided by the CBE Brotherhood prior to the speakers.

In 2020, 621 Energy installed an array of four solar canopies in Congregation Beth Elohim’s parking lot. One canopy was designed to meet half of CBE’s electricity needs. The remaining three canopies provide about 245 kw of electric capacity and are managed by Sunwealth, a community solar investor. In addition to CBE, the electricity generated benefits 17 low to moderate income families in the community.

After three years of operation, we are taking this opportunity to celebrate and inform our community about the system. Speakers at this breakfast forum include:

  • State Senator Jamie Eldridge, will speak on current legislation regarding the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Climate goals.
  • Barry Nyer, Congregation Beth Elohim Solar Team, will speak on the operation and performance of the CBE system for the CBE community.
  • Sean Howe, Sunwealth Power, will speak on how community solar works in general, and how individuals can invest in community solar.
