Jewish Book Month Author event with Anne Hand, on her book "Austrian Again"

Sunday, October 26, 2025 4 Cheshvan 5786

6:30 PM - 8:30 PMCBE & Zoom

Join us as former congregant, Anne Hand, shares her memoir, "Austrian Again."

Five years ago, one morning, Anne Hand saw a headline that would change her life: “Austria offers citizenship to the descendants of Jews who fled the Nazis.” The article changed her life, and Anne will return to Acton to tell her story as part of the Congregation Beth Elohim Jewish Book Month author event.

Her memoir, Austrian Again, shows us what it means to both reclaim a lost heritage and gain new footing in today’s world. This book is a profound reflection on memory and identity, a joyful tribute to the power of belonging, and a much-needed reminder of our collective immigrant past.

After the presentation, Anne will be available to sign books. You can pre-order books here: Bookshop, and Barnes & Noble, and books will be available for purchase at the event.

Anne Hand is from Acton and attended Congregation Beth Elohim through Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University and a Master of Education degree from Harvard University, is a recognized expert in global education and development and has frequently published on technology and society. Austrian Again is her first book.
