About U.S. Attorney (as of January 2022) Rachael Rollins

Attorney Rachael Rollins has been confirmed as U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts and will assume those duties in January 2022.  She is an advocate for criminal justice reform and has worked to push measures to reduce incarceration, correct racial and ethnic disparities, adopt alternatives to traditional prosecution, and improve relationships between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve. She is the first woman to serve as Suffolk County District Attorney and the first woman of color to serve as Massachusetts District Attorney.  Since taking office in 2019, D.A. Rollins has implemented humane and data-supported policies focusing her limited resources on the most violent and serious crimes to keeping Suffolk County safe.

The Boston Globe published an editorial about D.A. Rollins' upon her confirmation : "The Thorny Cases That Rachael Rollins Inherits".
