Brotherhood Breakfast with Rabbi Michael M Cohen, Arava Institute

Sunday, April 18, 2021 6 Iyyar 5781

9:30 AM - 11:00 AMZOOM

Join us to learn about "The Environment as a Bridge to Peace: The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies as a Case Study."

At the Arava Institute they say, "Nature Knows No Borders." This event will be led by Rabbi Michael M. Cohen, who has worked for the Arava Institute since its doors opened in 1996 dividing his time between his home in Vermont and the Kibbutz Ketura campus of the Institute. He will share with us how the Institute both works to heal and sustain the environment as well as heal and strengthen human relations between Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians and others.
In addition to its academic and research branches, the Arava Institute's most recent initiative, Applied Environmental Diplomacy,  through its Track II Environmental Forum,  is an exciting, internationally recognized, cross border effort.  This effort has leap-frogged traditional, unsuccessful diplomatic efforts in the development and execution of community initiatives by partnering Jordanian, Palestinian and Israeli NGO’s in support of those most in need of sustainable sources of clean water, energy and healthy soil.

The Arava Institute is an environmental and academic institution in the Middle East, dedicated to preparing future leaders from Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and around the world to cooperatively solve the regional and global challenges of our time. The Institute advances cross-border environmental cooperation and cross-border environmental discourse, regardless of political conflict, in the Middle East.
