Services

Our services are a combination of traditional and contemporary prayer and music. Each service includes lively congregational melodies, traditional chant (nusach), meaningful English readings and explanations of the prayers, and a thought-provoking sermon or brief Torah study. We also have a number of special services throughout the year featuring the CBE choir, visiting scholars, klezmer musicians, and more.

Check the CBE calendar for service dates and times.

Our services are held in-person and accessible via Zoom at this link: https://zoom.us/j/9782633061 You can find the Zoom password in our weekly Star-Lite newsletter, or by contacting Miriam in the CBE office at mbeitaharon@bethelohim.org or 978-263-3061.

Holiday Services

Our community comes together to celebrate Jewish holidays throughout the year.  We hear the shofar at High Holidays, gather for a sing-along in the sukkah for Sukkot, dance with the Torah for Simchat Torah, light candles for Chanukah, read the Megillah together for Purim, remember the Exodus at Passover, study late into the night while enjoying cheesecake for Shavuot, and more!  CBE offers engaging opportunities for all ages to connect with the joy, meaning, and traditions of these important events in the Jewish year.

CBE follows the Israeli schedule for holidays, with the exception of having two days of Rosh Hashanah.  Our clergy lead the following evening and morning holiday services, bringing our community together in prayer, song, and reflection:

  • Rosh Hashanah (Erev Rosh Hashanah, Day 1 Morning, Day 2 Morning, Tashlich)
  • Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur Morning, Afternoon, Yizkor, & Ne’ilah)
  • Erev Sukkot
  • Erev Simchat Torah
  • Shmini Atzeret / Simchat Torah Morning with Yizkor
  • Erev Purim Community Megillah Reading
  • 7th Day Passover Yom Tov Morning with Yizkor
  • Shavuot (Erev Shavuot Tikkun, Shavuot Morning with Yizkor)

(Siddur Hadash Festival Morning prayerbook)
