Welcome to Congregation Beth Elohim
We are a close-knit community synagogue in Acton, Massachusetts, about 25 miles northwest of Boston. We draw our membership from over a dozen surrounding cities and towns. Since our founding in 1969 we have been independent and non-affiliated, allowing us to open our doors to all, regardless of religious background or practice. We are a vibrant, diverse, caring and active community. Join us at a service or event! Click here to learn more about us or to inquire about membership.
Around the Shul
As our activities wind down for the summer, here are some of our ongoing events. Some restart in the fall and others happen through the summer!
Caregiver Support Group sponsored by Chesed ♦ 6 monthly sessions starting Tuesday, May 27 ♦ 7:00 to 8:15 PM
We invite all caregivers of adults (parents, spouses, adult children, etc) to join a monthly support group at CBE, led by Rabbi Judith Kummer, a board-certified chaplain. Open to the "extended" CBE community, including family and friends. Find all details and pre-register HERE.
Tot Shabbat & Shabbat Dinner ♦ Usually the first Friday of each month through May
All of our youngest children and their grownups are invited to sing, dance and pray with educator Naomi Katz-Mintz, Rabbi David, and Religious School Director Cindy Kalish. Everyone is invited to stay for Shabbat Dinner afterwards. Restarting in the fall.
Torah Talk with Rabbi David ♦ Usually, the first 3 Thursdays of each month, November to June ♦ 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Zoom only

Mid-week Torah Study with Waky ♦ Wednesdays starting in September ♦ 1-2 PM ♦ via Zoom
Join a group of adult students that has been studying Jewish texts together for several years. We study using the chevruta style of learning – we all share our thoughts on a wide perspective of texts. No previous knowledge is required nor is reading Hebrew a necessity. Drop-ins are welcome. Contact Waky at adulted@bethelohim.org.
Fun for the youngest and their grownups! Temple Tots for kids age 2 through pre-K held monthly on Sundays at 10 AM and Tot Shabbat followed by dinner held the first Friday of most months
Temple Tots is a free monthly class where kids and their parents can explore Jewish holidays through stories, crafts, and music. Watch for fall, 2025 dates for Temple Tots classes and for Tot Shabbat on our calendar and join us as we dance, sing and pray and then eat!
