Mission and Vision
Mission and Vision
Our Mission
Congregation Beth Elohim is committed to fostering an open, diverse community that acts as a place for spiritual development, as well as the celebration of Jewish culture and values. As an independent congregation, we forge a unique balance between preserving Jewish traditions and embracing progressive ideals, creating an environment that is inclusive to all. Our leadership is committed to the personal and spiritual growth of our members, providing guidance and support throughout life's journey.
Our Vision
Guided by the principles of Learning, Worship, and Acts of Loving-Kindness, Congregation Beth Elohim strives to foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that fulfills the ever-changing needs of our Jewish community.
We commit to building and maintaining an anti-racist Jewish community. We commit to working in an honest, transparent and inclusive way to continually assess and improve our CBE practices and programs and infuse anti-racist practices into all that we do.
Amudim
In November 2018 the Board of Directors established the following five main pillars (Amudim in Hebrew) supporting CBE’s strategy:
- Communal Jewish Values – “Make communal decisions based on Jewish values.” (Led by Ann Budner)
- Engage all demographics – “Expand our investment in religious and non-religious programming to attract, engage and sustain participation of all demographics.” (Led by Lindsay Rosenman)
- Volunteer engagement – “Instill in all members a desire to contribute to our future.” (Led by Danya Bloomstone and Bob Ferrara)
- Governance / Operational excellence – “Develop an organizational structure that leverages skillsets, promotes effective communication, ensures inclusive and effective decision-making.” (Led by David Leers)
- Financial sustainability – “Build a structure which ensures CBE’s financial health for the next generation.” (Led by Kathie Becker)

We've gone solar!
Electricity generated by our four solar canopies is among the most for a house of worship in MA. See in real time how much electricity is produced directly for CBE and for CBE & the Community. Read about the solar project and when the system went live. Also learn how families are helping the environment by joining the Green Team.
