As we prepare for our Pesach seders, CBE is proudly participating in this national HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) initiative, reminding Jews "to help the stranger, to protect the refugee, and to repair the world."

We welcome our special guest speaker, Gladys Vega, Executive Director of La Colaborativa, Chelsea. 

Gladys Vega was selected by the editors of the Globe Magazine as one of the 2020 Bostonians of the Year. Her nonprofit, La Colaborativa, empowers immigrants to enhance the social and economic health of their community and to hold institutional decision makers accountable.  Gladys has worked as an organizer and an advocate to ensure that immigrants have a role in determining the way their needs and concerns are addressed. 

This program is sponsored by Congregation Beth Elohim's Na'aseh group in conjunction with HIAS’ National Refugee Shabbat celebration.  Na'aseh is the social justice committee of CBE.
