A Special Klezmer Kabbalat Shabbat Service with Kol Arev, the choir of Hebrew College Friday, April 21 • 7:30 pm
On Friday evening, April 21st, we will enjoy a very special service as we welcome Kol Arev, the choir of Hebrew College of Newton, for a unique Klezmer Kabbalat Shabbat.
Featuring a variety of accomplished students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Hebrew College (including our own Wendy Linden), Kol Arev will also be accompanied by five fabulous Klezmer instrumentalists - all right here on our bima. Our CBE choir will also join with them for part of the service.

The Annual Yom HaShoah Commemoration with special screening of film "Soul Witness, The Brookline Holocaust Witness Project"

The event will start with a candle lighting ceremony led by Rabbi Lewis Mintz and Cantor Sarra Spierer.
Filmmaker R. Harvey Bravman will present his work-in-progress documentary “Soul Witness, The Brookline Holocaust Witness Project”. The film is based on over 80 hours of interviews of local survivors conducted by Lawrence Langer, one of the world's foremost authorities on Holocaust testimonies. The interviews ended up in a metal closet for 25 years. Mr. Bravman’s presentation will be followed by the film screening.
Talk on Climate Change Wednesday, April 26 • 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Professor Sylvia Dee of Brown University will speak about the basic physics of climate change, how we distinguish between human contribution and other causes of climate change, and climate policy. Donations accepted. Organized by Craig Maiman and Matt Liebman.
